Breath is life-giving

It’s no secret.

But did you know? Breathwork is a deep healing tool. The mechanism of breathing is a bottom-up process - meaning that you process through sensory information in the body.

Western psychology will have you believe that the top-down process is the way to go when working through repressed pain and trauma. The modalities of traditional medicine are designed so that you process through the mind - through thinking and talking (hello therapy).

However, the bottom-up process of breathwork has shown to be a much faster and more effective way to process and heal trauma and mental health. 

This practice creates space for our bodies to discharge trauma so that we live more clearly and freely.

The inner workings of breathwork

this journey uses a style of breathwork called somatic breathwork created
by steven jaggers

This modality is a combination of the learnings from Stanislov Groff’s work with Holotropic breathwork and Joe Dispenza’s work with elevated emotions paired with guidance using NLP cuing to speak to your subconscious mind.

According to a study performed 2013, holotropic breathwork sessions helped participants experience emotional catharsis and internal spiritual exploration. The results of this study, which included results of 11,000 people over the course of 12 years, further suggest that it can be used to treat a wide range of psychological and existential life issues.

It’s my mission to help the world become more whole, healed, and well. That often looks like working through outdated trauma responses + subconscious thought patterns that are no longer serving you.

FAQ

  • how will we meet?

These sessions can be held in person (if you’re in the Los Angeles area) or virtually over Zoom.

  • how often should i schedule sessions?

For those presently struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD, I recommend sessions close together. 1 session a week for a month, or a session every other week for 2 months and we can then reassess where you are. As symptoms decrease and insights into healing become more tangible, we can move into 1 session per month and then work down to maintenance sessions a few times per year.

  • Will my session be recorded?

No. These sessions are not recorded.

  • are there any contraindications to practicing breathwork?

Great question! Since this breathwork can result in intense physical and emotional release, it’s not advised for persons with a history of: cardiovascular disease, untreated high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, significant recent physical injuries or surgery, severe mental illness, major medications like antipsychotics, a history of seizures.

  • what do I need to bring? How do I set up my space?

Please set up your space to be lying on the ground on a yoga mat, blanket or towel. You may use other props like a pillow under you knees if you need it. I recommend having an additional pillow close by in case of vocal expression.

If your session is online, set up your camera so that I will be able to see you during the session and use headphones for the best audio experience.

Have a journal and pen nearby for reflections and insights post session.

  • HOw should I prepare for my session?

Don't eat a heavy meal right before the session as some of the breathwork techniques can be uncomfortable if you're stomach is too full.

Reflect on what you’re moving through in this season of your life and what you are seeking to receive from the session.

  • what should I wear for my session?

I always say come as you are. However, I do not recommend wearing clothing that is restrictive or uncomfortable, as the goal of this techniques is for you to express and move freely.

  • what’s the difference between the ‘release + re-inspire breathwork’ & ‘regulate + rewire breathwork’ ?

Release + Re-inspire sessions are a longer, more intense breathwork journey meant to discharge stress, emotions and trauma from the body so that you can feel clear and connected. It is typically used every couple of weeks or once a month. This breathwork style is based off the modern work of Stanislav Groff’s Holotropic breathwork. 

Regulate + Rewire sessions are meant to create safety in your nervous system and rewire limiting beliefs. The practice are shorter practices (5-10 minutes) meant to be used consistently on a weekly basis.  They use centuries old pranayama techniques from the Yogic tradition combined with NLP language.

You can think of the difference like a hammer and a sledgehammer. Regulate + Rewire practices are like a hammer helping you build up and rebuild your health nail by nail, in small incremental ways. Release is more like a sledgehammer that you use to clear out what was old and no longer serving you.

They have different goals and they are powered differently.


 who am I?

Hi I’m Liz

My own healing journey is and has been a rollercoaster ride with many ups and downs. I’ve navigated coming to terms with childhood trauma, PTSD, depression, social anxiety, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, toxic relationships, and behavioral addictions. 

Along the way, I’ve shed many layers and moved through many versions of myself. Before, I was depressed AF, totally unmotivated and the queen of avoidance.  

I spent over a decade of my life seeking healing and well-being through mindfulness, creativity, inner child work, self love and somatic healing. I’ve worked with professionals in therapy and with coaches to reprogram my mind. I became certified in breathwork and meditation.  Through all this work, I found liberation from limiting beliefs, mental blocks, and emotional baggage that held me back for years.

I’m more confident, more consistent, more full of life and more authentically myself than I’ve EVER felt before.

now i’m here to show you how release breathwork journeys can improve your quality of life.

This practice helped me shed layers and rise above the emptiest versions of myself. It helped me move through life's challenges with more grace and compassion. It improved my mental and physical health. It released me from years of chronic pain and body tension.
